Dublin College Brand Identity — a bridge between learning and success

A new name and visual identity has been created for Further Education and Training (FET) across the Dublin and Dún Laoghaire region. Inspired by the idea of Limitless Learning, Dublin College unites more than 80,000 learners, 32 centres, over 1,000 staff, and a wide network of partners under a single, future-focused brand. It reflects a collective commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and opportunity, supporting learners as they progress in education, careers, and personal development.
Designed to connect a diverse network of learning environments, the identity provides each centre with its own version of the logo, linking colleges across the Dublin area to the brand. This structure ensures consistency while allowing for local character. Photography guidelines emphasise real people and genuine learning experiences, celebrating the diversity and inclusivity at the heart of Dublin College.
The design system is both bold and adaptable. Graphic elements and the logo are used dynamically across digital and print platforms, creating a sense of movement and direction that echoes the learner journey.
The Dublin College identity captures the transformative role of education as a bridge between learning and success. Central to the system is a distinctive logo formed from two square shapes with 45-degree corners removed. These forms symbolise pathways and progress, representing how learners are supported through key transitions in life and work.
We worked closely with the Dublin College team to launch a new website that acts as a single entry point for all learners. The goal was to create a clear and straightforward and accessible user journey that helps different types of learners quickly find the information most relevant to them. To support this, we developed custom search function that guides users directly to appropriate content based on their needs.
The website is fully integrated with the centrally managed government FetchCourses platform, ensuring consistency and accuracy of course information across all locations and programmes. We also built a flexible content management system that enables the Dublin College team to quickly create and update pages using a series of predefined layout blocks within a custom-developed page builder. This ensures brand integrity is maintained while allowing the team the autonomy to efficiently managing content as services and courses evolve.
